Very Strange!

Currently 10:37 a.m. Sunday

Couldn't sleep last night. Energy level is super high. Feel like I could leap tall buildings in a single bound. Having trouble sitting still. My hands are actually shaking from the energy rush. When I crash down from this I have a feeling it is gonna be a big crash and burn!

She's right. I haven't seen her this hyper since she was bartending on a busy night. Maybe I should let her mow the lawn.

Love ya, Sweetie.

Are you on decadron/dexamethasone? Those steroids can make you jittery/hyper/insane (uh, not speaking from experience or anything. . . ) Well, if the energy is a good thing, I hope it lasts (without interfering with your sleep of course).

You picked it right! Dexamethasone! (Also on Anzemet Dolasethron Mesylate for the nausea). I was pretty sure that the first one is the one giving me the speedy invincible feeling! I sure did get a lot of things done today!

Course, then again, look at the time I am up writing this comment! You can tell it isn't helping with my sleep any! I actually went to bed at 9:30 tonight, but have only been able to get minimum sleep.

Sure is nice to hear from someone else that has gone through it!

If the dex. starts making you buggy from lack of sleep, don't be afraid to ask for a sleeping aid, or if you can try cutting the dex dosage down. I ended up in the ER (my choice) after not sleeping for several days and suffering from heart palpitations (probably because of the lack of sleep). I took several different sleeping aids, and it did help. I also eventually scaled my dex dose back to about a third of the pills I was prescribed, without any adverse effect (with the permission of my oncologist, of course).
